Thud, thud, thud,
With every step I take, my feet hit the ground and vibrate a little. They tingle, a plethora of sensations spread throughout my body.
Thud, thud, thud,
My feet and heart beat monotonously, in sync with each other, an incessant, robotic beat. That’s all the music I need.
Thud, thud, thud,
I run because I love to run. I let my body dip itself into a river of pain. Feel the ebb and flow on my pace. I let it expose itself to shin splints, battered knees and numb ankles.
There’s pride when walking home, you see grime smeared on your legs like battle scars.
I take the punishment. I love the soreness felt the morning after a run. There’s an element of self-regard felt upon knowing you managed to push yourself. To break through the mental barrier. Fortitude.
Thud, thud, thud,
It is a wonder watching your whole body, glistening with sweat, push past the limits you thought existed. It’s exhilarating to see yourself break the barriers you once considered untouchable.
Thud, thud, Thud.
Push the limit, inch by inch and run until you touch the sky.

I miss running, I have injured my knee, I cannot ever again take it up like I used to.
However, an inspirational post for a change.

Lovely read. Had been on a break myself & feel pretty charged up for a run now. But thats bad about your injury. Rest & recover soon..

Haha, I’ve read you posts about running.
No recovery for me, I tore a ligament, my knee buckles if I go on a long run, so well.

Oh that must be painful. TC!

Running is liberating, yes. It is extremely underrated as I don’t really see much of the general public appreciating it. That’s pretty sad.
Anyway, I feel really bad for you because of the injury. I can imagine how it feels.
This was a good post, Udit.

It is, very! You should try it, one step at a time. You may come to love it.
Thank you. 🙂 I miss the adrenaline.

I connect with this… I am recovering from an injury myself and have slowly started training. Reaching the high beyond that pain is the absolute liberation! Sorry to hear about your injury, hope you can catch a few mini runs.

Hope you can return to it soon. Yes, absolutely, I loved the rush! I hope so, perhaps.

It’s a deep sadness, losing something that makes you feel strong

There’s also a tinge of nostalgia associated with those idealistic times.
Yes, I miss running though.

In retrospect, it’s kinda funny that I commented on sadness in relation to a post called “Euphoria.” I think I missed the uplifting part of your message, although it does read as nostalgic. However, I was immediately drawn to the loss in the situation. Perplexing. But perhaps it’s because, when something evokes such a powerful experience as euphoria, it also has the power to emphasize loss. To me, it is nice that you address the pure joy of having experienced. I guess that’s the happy part 🙂

Hahahaha, yes, its quite ironic, actually.
No, thats okay, everyone interprets an article different.
I really admire the insight you give me here. You nailed it, really. The more important something is for us, the worse its loss can make you feel.
Yes, it’s the happy part.
I intend to take up something else in the future, I hope it works better this time. 🙂
Thank You.
